KaBuM Sweep Golden Lions in Promotion Opener

KaBuM Ilha das Lendas opened the 2027 CBLOL Promotion tournament with a 3-0 victory over Golden Lions on September 28. The sweep sends KaBuM into an upper-bracket semifinal against LOS on September 30. Golden Lions move to the lower bracket rather than leaving the tournament. The event awards one guest-team place in the 2027 CBLOL premier season, so every later series affects a single available promotion route.

The tournament uses a five-team double-elimination bracket and runs from September 28 to October 12. That structure makes the first result important without making it final. KaBuM have reduced the number of series between them and the guest slot, but they have not secured promotion. Golden Lions have spent their upper-bracket opportunity and must now avoid another loss if they want to stay in contention.

KaBuM avoided an early bracket detour

A 3-0 result gives KaBuM the cleanest possible start to a best-of-five. The team won all three games required and did not expose itself to a fourth or fifth draft. The verified roster lists Yupps, SCARY, Grevthar, Kojima and Guigs. Detailed player scoreboards were not available in the reviewed sources, so the sweep is credited to the lineup without assigning an unsupported most valuable player.

Golden Lions entered with Brayaron, Ganks, Piqueos, Scenari0 and Crecre listed on the roster. Losing in three games confirms that the series never reached a successful answer, but it does not identify one player as the cause. The available record contains the final series score and bracket movement, not reliable kill totals, champion selections or individual lines for every game.

Only one 2027 CBLOL place is available

The promotion tournament’s central pressure comes from scarcity. Five teams are competing for one guest-team place, so reaching the next round is not equivalent to sharing several qualification spots. KaBuM must continue winning until the bracket determines its single champion. The opening sweep improves the route but cannot be presented as promotion.

LOS provide the next confirmed test. Their place in the upper-bracket semifinal means KaBuM move directly from the Golden Lions sweep into another best-of-five with higher stakes. The scheduled meeting will decide which team stays on the shortest route toward the upper-bracket final. It will not necessarily eliminate the loser because the bracket still provides a lower-side route.

Golden Lions now rely on that lower side. Double elimination grants a second chance after the first series loss, but it removes further margin for error. Another defeat would end the campaign. The exact opponent and date should come from the finalized bracket rather than being inferred from an incomplete slot.

The absence of detailed game data sets a clear reporting boundary. No duration, kill score, gold lead, objective sequence or champion pick is inserted merely to make the sweep sound more analytical. The 3-0 score already proves consistent series control, while the roster and bracket records explain who advanced and what remains.

KaBuM also gain a practical scheduling advantage from ending in three games. The lineup completed the minimum number of games in a best-of-five and can prepare for LOS without the additional stage time of a longer series. That is a reasonable tournament observation, not proof that the team will be fresher or favored when the next match begins.

The opener therefore establishes position rather than ownership of the slot. KaBuM stay in the upper bracket and move one round forward. Golden Lions continue through the elimination side. The 2027 CBLOL guest place remains unclaimed until the tournament reaches its final deciding result.

  • KaBuM won the opening best-of-five 3-0.
  • The victory moved KaBuM into an upper-bracket semifinal against LOS.
  • Golden Lions dropped to the lower bracket and remain alive.
  • The tournament awards one guest-team place in the 2027 CBLOL.
