Galions Sweep KT Challengers at WSCI

Galions advanced at the World Star Challengers Invitational by sweeping KT Rolster Challengers 3-0 on September 28. The French side won all three games and finished the series with an 89-46 kill advantage. KT Challengers were eliminated, while Galions moved into a semifinal against T1 Esports Academy. The scheduled best-of-five is set for September 30 at 09:00 UTC.

The sweep was not built on three identical game lengths. Galions opened in 28:53, played a 36:37 second game and completed the series in 34:35. The kill margins remained substantial throughout: 33-13, 23-16 and 33-17. KT narrowed the difference in game two but could not turn the longer contest into a win or force a fourth game under the event’s knockout format.

Galions maintained pressure across three games

Game one created the largest early statement, with Galions reaching 33 kills while holding KT to 13. The second game was closer at 23-16 and lasted nearly eight minutes longer, requiring Galions to win without repeating the exact pace of the opener. Game three returned to a 33-kill output and ended 33-17. That sequence shows control through both a fast start and two longer closing tests.

Adding the three scoreboards produces 89 kills for Galions and 46 for KT, a difference of 43. The total is descriptive rather than a substitute for objectives or gold, which were not used in the reviewed evidence. It does show that the winning team repeatedly found successful fights. KT averaged more kills in the final two games than in the opener, but the improvement was not enough to change a single game result.

The semifinal creates a new comparison

Galions’ next opponent, T1 Esports Academy, reached the semifinal by beating Cupid Esports 3-1. The two quarterfinal scores create an obvious contrast, but they do not carry into the next series. Galions start the semifinal at 0-0 and must handle another best-of-five against a team that already recovered from dropping a game in its previous round.

The sweep also removes ambiguity around KT’s status. This was a knockout-stage series, not a double-elimination upper bracket. KT have no lower-bracket route attached to the 0-3 result, so their WSCI run ends here. Galions, by contrast, are guaranteed another series but have not yet reached the final.

Game two may be the most informative part of the result because it differed from the opener. KT extended the duration to 36:37 and reduced the kill gap to seven. Galions still completed the game, showing that the first win was not dependent only on producing another 20-kill margin before 30 minutes. The third game then restored a wider difference to close the series.

The event used Patch 26.18, and the best-of-five setting demands more preparation than a single best-of-one. Winning three consecutive games means Galions maintained enough draft and execution flexibility to prevent KT from finding a successful answer. Exact champion or player claims are omitted because the reviewed record does not supply a complete reliable set of those details.

For T1 Academy, the series kill totals should be treated as evidence of Galions’ recent form rather than a prediction. Different opponents produce different drafts and pressure points. The semifinal schedule confirms who plays and when, not how the matchup will end. Galions’ strongest concrete advantage is the confidence and rest created by closing the quarterfinal without a fourth or fifth game.

The quarterfinal therefore combines a clear scoreboard with a limited conclusion. Galions dominated the result, advanced and earned the meeting with T1 Academy. KT were eliminated. Everything beyond that, including a finalist or tournament winner, still requires another completed series.

  • Galions won game one 33-13 in 28:53.
  • The second game ended 23-16 after 36:37.
  • Galions closed game three 33-17 in 34:35.
  • The series total was 89-46 in kills.

Galions removed KT Challengers in three games and won the combined kill score by 43. The sweep sends them into a September 30 semifinal against T1 Academy. It does not decide the finalist, but it confirms one of the strongest WSCI knockout results so far.
