Team WE Beat GAM in 24-Minute Demacia Opener

Team WE defeated GAM Esports in approximately 24 minutes and 15 seconds in the opening round of the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational on October 3. WE finished the best-of-one with 17 kills to four, 53,300 gold to 40,200 and nine towers to one. The result placed WE in the 1-0 Swiss pool and moved GAM to the 0-1 side.
The final margins were 13 kills, 13,100 gold and eight towers. WE also secured three Void Grubs, one Rift Herald, an Infernal dragon and two Chemtech dragons. GAM’s listed neutral-objective return was one Mountain dragon. The combination of structures and objectives provides a complete closing picture without assigning an unsupported exact minute to every shift in control.

About led WE while Erha stayed deathless
About’s Lucian recorded eight kills, one death and three assists, the highest kill total in the game. Erha’s Milio finished 0/0/15, participating in 15 of WE’s 17 kills without dying. Karis added 4/1/8 on Ahri, Monki posted 3/2/10 on Qiyana and Cube completed a deathless 2/0/5 Galio game. Every WE player therefore participated in at least seven kills.
GAM’s four kills were divided evenly among Kiaya, Tiphat, Gloryy and Artemis. Taki supplied three assists on Lulu but did not record a kill. Tiphat’s Jarvan IV finished with five deaths, the highest total on GAM. The individual lines match the broader team result: WE produced 17 kills and 41 listed assists, while GAM ended with four kills and eight assists.
The opening win changes WE’s Swiss route
Round one was the only best-of-one phase of the modified Swiss stage. WE received one match win, not a knockout place. GAM received one loss, not elimination. Both teams remain active and move into record-matched pools.
Later rounds change to best-of-three series. That gives GAM more than one game to recover from an unsuccessful draft and asks WE to reproduce its level across changing champion selections. The opening result matters, but it cannot stand in for the evidence of a multi-game series.
The objective split helps explain the eight-tower margin. WE secured all three listed Grubs and the Herald, then ended with nine structures. GAM’s Mountain dragon was a confirmed neutral return, but it did not produce comparable tower progress before the finish.
The gold difference should remain attached to the final scoreboard. A 13,100 advantage at roughly 24 minutes is substantial, yet the source does not provide a verified minute-by-minute economy. Assigning the same lead to an earlier checkpoint would convert a final total into speculation.
Fearless Draft is listed for the tournament, but its repeating-series effect did not fully appear in one best-of-one. WE used Galio, Qiyana, Ahri, Lucian and Milio. GAM selected Rumble, Jarvan IV, Ryze, Yunara and Lulu. Those picks are facts; a later series will test adaptation more directly.
The result also avoids the need for an unofficial most valuable player label. About led the kills, Erha led the assists and stayed deathless, and the other three WE players combined for nine kills and 23 assists. The victory can be explained through supported shared production.
The next opponent must come from the official draw. A 1-0 or 0-1 pool narrows the eligible teams but does not by itself confirm a pairing. Until organizers publish that fixture, the accurate update is limited to WE’s winning record and GAM’s recovery route. That distinction keeps a completed result separate from the next round’s still-changeable schedule.
- Team WE won in approximately 24 minutes and 15 seconds.
- WE led 17-4 in kills, 53,300-40,200 in gold and 9-1 in towers.
- About finished 8/1/3 and Erha recorded 15 assists without dying.
- WE moved to 1-0, while GAM entered the 0-1 pool.

| Team | Kills | Gold | Towers | Swiss record |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Team WE | 17 | 53,300 | 9 | 1-0 |
| GAM Esports | 4 | 40,200 | 1 | 0-1 |
Team WE combined a 17-4 kill score with eight more towers and 13,100 more final gold to secure a short opening win. GAM remain in the tournament, but their next best-of-three begins from the 0-1 pool while WE take the stronger route.
