Noah Opens 2027 Search After Military Delay

GIANTX AD carry Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek is exploring opportunities for the 2027 season after postponing his mandatory military service until 2028. He remains under contract with GIANTX, but the organization has allowed him to speak with potential teams. Noah identified the LEC as his priority while remaining open to other English-speaking regions. No destination, release or new contract has been announced.

The distinction between exploration and free agency is important. Permission to consider offers allows a player and interested organizations to discuss a possible move, but GIANTX still holds the current contract unless the parties complete another arrangement. Noah’s announcement establishes availability for conversations, not the terms of a transfer. Reporting him as already signed or fully released would go beyond the confirmed information.

The delay restores another competitive season

Military timing had been a direct factor in Noah’s future. By postponing service until 2028, the 24-year-old can plan for 2027 rather than leaving the market immediately. He returned to solo queue after a two-month break from League and reported roughly 1,700 LP with a win rate near 70%, aiming for the top 10. Those figures show current activity, but they are self-reported ranked results rather than proof of a professional signing.

Noah’s preference also narrows the realistic interpretation of his search without closing it. The LEC comes first because most of his recent career has been in Europe, yet an English-speaking league elsewhere remains possible. Language preference does not identify a specific organization. Teams still need to assess role fit, contract cost, residency rules and roster construction before interest becomes an agreement.

GIANTX enter a wider offseason reset

Noah had already spent several months outside the starting lineup after GIANTX benched him. The rest of the organization is also approaching change: every player and coaching contract was scheduled to expire at the end of 2026. Jackies and Jun had already found places with Team Heretics, but their moves do not determine Noah’s outcome. Each contract follows its own negotiation.

His European record gives teams more than ranked data to examine. Noah arrived in 2023 with Zero Tenacity, won an Ultraliga split and moved to Fnatic for the Summer Split as Rekkles’ replacement. He remained through 2024 and attended two World Championships before joining GIANTX in 2025. That history demonstrates top-level experience, while the recent bench period explains why a new sporting project may be attractive.

The career began earlier in Korea. After initial tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019, Noah joined KT Rolster Academy in 2020, moved into LCK Challengers in 2021 and made some appearances in the LCK. His 2027 search therefore combines Korean development, European regional success, LEC experience and international events. It does not guarantee that the strongest offer will come from his preferred region.

The next reliable update must identify a concrete transaction: a release, transfer, loan, renewal or new signing. Until then, GIANTX remains the contracting organization and Noah is an authorized candidate on the market. The military postponement creates time, but it does not choose the team.
