Berserker Wins 2026 LCS Summer MVP

LYON bot laner Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol has been named the 2026 LCS Summer Split Most Valuable Player. LoL Esports announced the award on October 1 after a split in which he led the league in gold difference at 10 minutes, CS difference at 10, damage per minute and damage share. It is Berserker’s second LCS split MVP award and follows his first-team All-Pro selection.

The award uses a combined voting process rather than one public poll. The panel includes the LCS broadcast team, third-party media and representatives of professional teams. Fan voting contributes one collective ballot. No vote totals are added because the reviewed announcement names the winner and the electorate without supplying a complete numerical breakdown that could support a margin of victory.

Four league-leading categories supported the award

Berserker led two early-lane measures and two damage measures. Gold difference and CS difference at 10 minutes describe his position during the opening phase, while damage per minute and damage share describe later output from different angles. Leading all four builds a broader statistical case than one isolated total, although none of the categories alone explains every draft or team result.

His KDA finished second in the league behind LYON teammate Inspired. That comparison requires context because Inspired played only three regular-season series. The ranking remains official, but different sample sizes limit how directly it should be interpreted. Berserker’s other recognition, the annual Slayer title, uses a separate measure: the most kills accumulated across all regular seasons.

The second MVP arrives with a different team

Berserker’s first split MVP came in Spring 2023 during his time with Cloud9, a split that also ended with an LCS championship. The 2026 award follows his return to North America with LYON. Calling it his second MVP is accurate; treating it as two consecutive MVPs would not be, because the honors are separated by several seasons.

The summer performance also included draft flexibility. Berserker played three non-marksman champions during the split. Jayce and Taliyah were each selected once, while the reviewed material does not identify the third choice. The article therefore records the confirmed count and two named examples without filling the remaining slot from memory or assumption.

LYON had already won two consecutive championships when the MVP was announced and remained in contention for a third at the Atlanta final weekend. The individual award does not decide that tournament result. Berserker can be the Summer MVP regardless of whether LYON later win or lose, because the voting recognizes the performance period defined by the league.

First-team All-Pro and MVP are related but separate distinctions. Berserker’s All-Pro place identifies him as the selected bot laner on the league’s first team. MVP selects one player across roles. Receiving both shows that voters recognized his position-specific performance and his overall value, but the two announcements should not be counted as duplicate MVP trophies.

The four leading categories also need accurate labels. Gold difference at 10 is not total game gold, and CS difference at 10 is not final farm. Damage share is a percentage of team output, while damage per minute is a rate. Combining the labels into a single vague statement about leading every statistic would overstate the evidence.

The confirmed award closes the individual regular-season debate while leaving the team competition open. Berserker adds a second split MVP and the Slayer title to his record; LYON’s next result in Atlanta must still be reported as a separate development.

  • Berserker led gold difference at 10 minutes.
  • He also led CS difference at 10 minutes.
  • His damage per minute and damage share ranked first.
  • The honor is his second LCS split MVP after Spring 2023.

Berserker’s second LCS MVP is supported by first-place results in four different statistical categories and a first-team All-Pro selection. The award recognizes his Summer performance while LYON’s pursuit of another championship remains a separate, unfinished competition.
