About RATE Gaming
RATE Gaming was a Danish entry in the European League of Legends landscape, competing out of the EMEA region during its period of activity. Denmark has long punched above its weight in the game, producing a steady stream of elite talent, and RATE Gaming was one of the many smaller organisations that populated the country’s competitive underbelly beneath the marquee international clubs. The team is now recorded as disbanded.
A team from a talent-rich nation
Although Denmark’s reputation in League of Legends is built largely on the star players it exports to the LEC and beyond, that pipeline rests on a foundation of domestic and regional teams where prospects sharpen their play. RATE Gaming occupied a place within this developmental tier, contesting matches in the semi-professional and amateur circuits that structure EMEA competition below the franchised elite.
Competing in EMEA
The EMEA region is the most sprawling in world League of Legends, spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa and organised into a hierarchy topped by the LEC. Feeding into that summit are national and regional leagues across dozens of countries, and it is here that organisations of RATE Gaming’s stature made their mark. Sustaining a project at this level is notoriously difficult, with limited revenue and intense competition for both results and attention.
Legacy
With no active roster recorded and the organisation now dissolved, RATE Gaming’s competitive chapter has closed. Its existence nonetheless forms part of the broader Danish and European grassroots that underpins the region’s continued success, a reminder that the visible peaks of EMEA esports are supported by a wide base of teams whose contributions rarely make international headlines.
