About Rampage
Rampage was a Japanese professional League of Legends team that competed in the League of Legends Japan League, known widely as the LJL. Now a former organisation, Rampage was for a time one of the recognisable names in Japan’s top domestic circuit, an important part of the story of how the country’s competitive scene took shape.
The Team’s Line-up
Across its history, Rampage was associated with players including Dara, Moyashi, and Ramune, a core that carried the organisation through its LJL campaigns. These competitors represented the team on the Rift during a period when Japanese League of Legends was working to establish itself and to develop the talent pipeline that would sustain the region over the long term. The presence of established names on the roster underscored Rampage’s role as a serious participant in the domestic competition.
Japan’s Premier League
The LJL has stood as the flagship of Japanese League of Legends, running through split-format seasons that determine domestic champions and decide which teams earn passage to international tournaments. For Rampage, competing in this environment meant contesting matches against the other leading Japanese sides and pursuing the region’s shared ambition of performing on the global stage. Japanese teams have long entered such events as challengers, using the experience to sharpen their play.
The competitive climate of the LJL grew steadily more demanding over the years, with expanding investment and professionalisation reshaping the field. Organisations that once thrived found themselves navigating an increasingly competitive landscape, and roster continuity became ever more important to staying near the top.
A Place in History
Although Rampage has disbanded, its contribution endures as part of the fabric of early Japanese League of Legends. The players who competed under its banner went on to further stages of their careers, and the team’s run remains a reference point for those tracing the evolution of the LJL. Rampage’s legacy lives on in the memory of a scene that has continued to grow since its active days.
