LLN refers to the Liga Latinoamérica Norte, the former northern division of Latin American professional League of Legends, here appearing in the context of Rift Rivals, the international competition that once pitted regional leagues against one another. As a competitive entity this selection is now disbanded, a reflection of the structural changes that reshaped Latin American esports when its northern and southern circuits were merged into a single unified league.

The northern Latin American circuit

Before consolidation, Latin America ran two distinct top-tier competitions, and the northern branch, the LLN, served as the proving ground for organisations and players across the region’s northern countries. It produced champions who earned the right to represent their scene abroad and helped cultivate a competitive culture that continues to influence Latin American League of Legends today.

Rift Rivals and regional pride

Rift Rivals was designed to foster rivalries between neighbouring or comparable regions, giving mid-tier and emerging leagues a recurring international stage outside of the game’s marquee global events.
