About WSL
WSL, whose real name is Le Shao Wei, is a Chinese jungler whose competitive path took him through the Pacific Championship Series with Dewish Team. Now retired from active play, he leaves behind a career spent patrolling the neutral spaces of Summoner’s Rift in one of the game’s most cerebral roles.
The Art of the Jungle
Junglers occupy a unique tactical position, moving fluidly between lanes rather than committing to a single stretch of the map. WSL’s role required him to farm neutral monsters, contest objectives, and orchestrate ganks that could swing the momentum of a game in an instant. Few positions demand as much map awareness and split-second decision-making, and few reward good judgment as generously.
A jungler’s influence radiates outward from the moment the game begins. Every path taken, every camp cleared, and every gank attempted sends ripples across all three lanes. WSL had to weigh risk against reward constantly, deciding when to invade enemy territory, when to secure a dragon or Baron, and when to simply accelerate his own growth. This blend of aggression and calculation defines the modern jungle role that he played throughout his career.
Competing in the PCS
The Pacific Championship Series brought together talent from across the region, and WSL’s tenure with Dewish Team placed him in a demanding competitive environment. As a jungler, he served as the connective tissue of his squad, linking the lanes together and coordinating the tempo of each match. His decisions often set the pace for how his teammates approached the map.
Playing in an international league exposed WSL to a wide variety of playstyles and strategies, testing his adaptability against opponents with differing philosophies. The PCS has consistently served as a competitive proving ground within the broader Asian scene, and WSL contributed to that ecosystem during his active years.
A Career Concluded
Now retired, WSL’s story is one of a dedicated competitor who committed himself to a role that rewards intelligence and initiative. While his professional days are behind him, the experience he accumulated navigating the jungle at a high level remains part of the fabric of the PCS. His journey stands as a reminder of the many players who help sustain regional competition through their efforts on the Rift.
