Diana is the clearest thread connecting that hidden faith to the present. Marked from birth as Scorn of the Moon by the very order that once might have called her sister, she carries the Lunari’s persecution as personal history rather than distant legend, and her continued defiance keeps the old belief from being erased entirely, whether or not she ever finds others who still share it.
Aphelios, described as the Weapon of the Faithful, suggests a devotion that fits a religion still surviving underground far better than one confident enough to worship in daylight. Where the Solari have Leona as a champion built to embody their doctrine openly, the Lunari have no equivalent figure standing in public view, only quieter signs and older names that the moon’s followers never fully vanished from the mountain.
The rest of Targon’s champions exist somewhere outside this particular conflict, cosmic in scope rather than partisan in it. Aurelion Sol answers to ambitions older than Targon’s sun-and-moon dispute, and Soraka, the Starchild, offers healing that serves anyone regardless of which faith they were raised in or which side of the mountain they favor. Their neutrality only sharpens the contrast: even on a mountain crowded with cosmic power, the space to openly follow the moon still belongs almost entirely to memory and to the few, like Diana, willing to fight for more than that. What the Lunari lack in temples and open worship, they have so far made up for simply by refusing to finish disappearing, generation after generation, no matter how completely the Solari believed the matter closed.
