The empire’s roster of mages and schemers hints at how much room exists for that quieter kind of power to operate unnoticed. LeBlanc, the Deceiver, and Cassiopeia, whose title alone invokes a serpent’s embrace, both suggest a Noxus where identity and loyalty can be as fluid as any spell cast to reshape them. Katarina, the Sinister Blade, shows how easily assassination and politics blur together in a court this competitive, while Annie, the Dark Child, is proof that even untrained, uncontrolled power finds a use somewhere in the empire’s machinery, whether it wants that use or not.
None of this makes the Black Rose a rival throne. It has no armies to march and no seat it claims outright, and it has never needed either.
