Ki Barrier shields him after every cast, with the effect refreshing sooner when he affects other champions, so his effective health during a scrappy exchange sits well above the 610 on the stat sheet. Against that, Zyra’s 574 health and 29 armor leave no margin at all.

Positioning is where the matchup is actually decided:

• Spirit’s Refuge blocks attacks aimed at Shen or allies near his spirit blade, which switches off plant damage inside a defined area — the same area Zyra wants to control.
• Shadow Dash taunts everything along its path, and 64 base attack damage into 29 armor punishes the target it drags in.
• Stand United shields and teleports to an ally anywhere, so a won exchange rarely stays won for long.
