Xin Zhao finishes fights with Crescent Guard, which deals damage scaled to current health, while Tryndamere answers with an ultimate that makes him unable to die no matter how wounded he becomes. The finisher and its counter sit on the same clock.

The frame was already unfavorable. Tryndamere opens with 696 health, 76 more than Xin Zhao, and reaches 2,532 to his 2,422. Attack damage runs 66 against 63, while movement speed and attack range are identical at 345 and 175, so there is no spacing lever to pull.

Battle Fury then turns pressure into a scaling problem. Fury builds from every attack, critical strike and killing blow, passively raising his critical strike chance, and Bloodlust increases his attack damage the more wounded he is, so pushing him low makes him stronger rather than safer. Mocking Shout cuts Xin Zhao’s attack damage outright and slows him if his back is turned, which undermines Determination, an effect that needs three connected attacks to heal. Spinning Slash lets him cut toward a target through the wave, so disengaging is rarely available either.
