Xin Zhao vs Olaf Counter Pick

Reckless Swing is the reason armor stops mattering. Olaf pays health to deal true damage, and Xin Zhao’s 35 base armor growing to 109.8 does nothing against it. Every defensive item on his side answers Undertow and basic attacks while leaving the single largest hit untouched. The record follows: 39.57% for Xin Zhao over 139 games on patch 16.13.1.

Ragnarok removes the second half of his plan. His pattern depends on the third hit of Three Talon Strike knocking a target airborne and Wind Becomes Lightning slowing what it marks, and an Olaf who keeps attacking is immune to disables and walks through both. Undertow reduces armor and movement speed on the approach, and Berserker Rage converts missing health into attack speed and life steal, so a longer duel keeps tilting further. Tough It Out layers a shield and more attack speed on top of that.

The raw numbers agree. Olaf carries 645 base health to 2,668 at level 18 against 620 and 2,422, 68 attack damage against 63, and 350 movement speed against 345. Xin Zhao’s counterweights are 175 attack range to 125 and marginally higher armor late. Neither champion is mechanically demanding, rated 2 and 3, so tools rather than execution decide it, and Olaf holds the better set.
