Rek’Sai vs Skarner Counter Pick

Skarner’s Impale suppresses enemy champions and then drags them along as he moves, and clean answers to it are rare. Rek’Sai owns one: Void Rush makes her briefly untargetable as she lunges at a marked target, and a suppression that cannot acquire her is a wasted ultimate. That interaction carries much of her 55.0% over 120 games on patch 16.13.1.

Reach and speed support the same conclusion. She attacks from 175 against his 150 and moves at 340 against 335, and Ixtal’s Impact — the charge through terrain that slams a champion into the next wall it reaches — is far less threatening in open ground than next to one. Skarner is the tankier build overall, at 2,500 health and 109.5 armor on level 18 against 2,283 and 111.5, and Threads of Vibration applies Quaking through his attacks and three abilities, dealing maximum-health magic damage at full stacks. Percentage-health damage is indifferent to how much health she buys, and Seismic Bastion’s shield covers the approach that Ixtal’s Impact is meant to set up.
